A NEW LOOK AT RADIATION PROTECTION

Radiology - nuclear medicine - biomedical research

Sources of X-ray emissions:

Radiation is said to be ionizing if it has enough energy to tear an electron from an atom. This is the case of X-rays emitted by diagnostic devices. The ionization caused by this radiation passes through the living matter “in rain”, causing chemical modifications of the cellular molecules. The impact on a given organ is quantified in Sieverts (Sv) or equivalent dose.

Eye protection glasses for healthcare professionals

Health professionals are in almost permanent contact with sick people suffering from various pathologies and thus become the population most exposed to viruses, bacteria, etc.
